By the end of April, Pacific Beach will have a new live music destination in Moonshine Beach, the Garnet Avenue version of Good Time Design's adult funhouse Moonshine Flats, which has been entertaining in the East Village since 2014. While Moonshine Flats (which is opening a honky tonk Nashville), centers primarily around the country music scene, Moonshine Beach with have a "southern Gulf coast" vibe and feature everything from big-name country acts on weekends to reggae and indie rock on weeknights. Moonshine Beach will share a 20,000 square­-foot space, once the site of Fred’s Mexican Cafe and Typhoon Saloon, with its companion piece, adjacent eatery Cerveza Jack's which opened in February.
